I had cubs tonight, and I had my camera out, but I didn’t end up taking any pictures of what they were doing. Shhh!…they were working on a mother’s day craft, plus painting the go-cart for this week’s Soap Box Derby. So for this posting, you will get to see what we did last week, as I can’t post what we did for today, some mom’s might be reading!
Last week, when the wind was blowing, we made these awesome kites kits called frustrationless flyer kit which can be purchased in the USA. Well worth it, and not too pricey, for their size and durability! They come with what you need: the kite precut, dowels, tape, and string. All that is needed is a hole punch, and felt markers to decorate. The string handles, are purchased separately from the kits., Considering they come with all that you need, and with supplying your own felt markers, makes it a doable project! The kite kits cost about $5.00 and are very durable!
First time kite lovers, seem to really enjoy the night, once they got their kite up in the air!
All 14 children got their kites up! The kites withstand the wind, they were able to fly without ripping! A few children had their string out to the very end, and the string only broke when it got caught up with another kite! We couldn’t have asked for a better night, it was a great night for kite flying!
