It’s quite amazing to take a flight that can last just over an hour, instead of a white knuckle drive through treacherous mountain passes, which could be at least 10 hours, and to arrive about the same time you leave, because of time zones.  It was so wonderful to escape from the snow, to see green grass. Whenever I arrive in Vancouver, it doesn’t rain! So, I consider myself very lucky to bring the good weather when I come to visit, and it turns for the worse usually as soon as I leave.

I go to Vancouver yearly, usually for an annual Christmas Party.   It’s great to reconnect with work employees and to see what is new in their lives.

This time I brought my camera and took some pictures of Vancouver.   I love exploring, and unfortuantely didn’t get all the time I needed, so I will just have to go back again!

Two years ago,  I walked in a boutique store in granville market, on our brief stop over in Vancouver, before heading to Hawaii.   I worked up the nerve and stuck a conversation to the new owners of this store about selling different products of Canadian Artists, and possibly selling my belt buckles.    Their business was slow, and they were  planning to update their shop.  They said to sent some out to them, after I got back from Hawaii, but then a huge Vancouver winter storm hit (that is the kind of crazy weather that happens when I leave) and people were feeling the recession.    The owner wasn’t thrilled with how bad her business was doing, and so it never went any further, and I haven’t pursued it again.      This time,  I took what I had left of my stock of belt buckles and some belts.  The buckles had to be searched, as they didn’t pass the x-ray machine.  My husband rolled his eyes!  Prior to coming I had arrange a private sale in the bathroom during the dinner!  My husband rolled his eyes again! (This was his work party, afterall)  It sounds very ridiculous, but you have to understand, that whenever I attend these office parties in Calgary, I usually end up selling a few pieces right off the table, which embarrasses my husband tremendously!  When I went into the bathroom, there was a small table, and two chairs outside of the stalls.  It was like it was set up just for me! We got down to business, and out came a lady from the stall, she was intriqued, but didn’t stay!  Next time, I’ll have to post on the bathroom door, Jewelry sale and open invitation to all!

So, perhaps one day on a future visit .  I will work up my nerve again! Hmmm…I wonder how the weather will be like now, that I have left! Christina

This past weekend I got to spend a part of the day with Vienna! She will be turning five.  I have been very lucky to be a part of creating her birthday bracelet designs the past few years.  She is the only girl in a family of 4, having 3 brothers! Her mom is a great photographer and loves vintage! She had a beautiful tea party with all her friends.  They were served tea cakes, wafer cookies, pickles, raspberry tea, or juice.  The silver tea set was just so precious!! As well, as all the details that her mom put into action!  I was priviledge to be there and to be apart of this special day for Vienna.  Each guest created their own sterling silver bracelets with semi precious stones, and czech republic glass beads! They did a fabulous job, and they were the quietness and most polite young ladies, I have every seen at a birthday party! Thank you, for this opportunity!   Happy Birthday, Vienna!

PS.  I do two types of birthday parties.  The children can make and create their own bracelet, or they can created clay beads, and with those clay beads make a sterling silver charmed bookmark.
